Ns. "repäisykuva" Asterix Hispanjassa -albumista. Kivi lentää vaikka molemmat narut ovat kädessä kiinni.

-------------------------------------

The so-called "torn out" Asterix in Hispania album. Stone to fly even if both ropes attached to the hand.

-------------------------------------------------

Friend's father was a young boy thrown sling in Karelia. From him we learn of the 70's in the middle of this "habit". I knew already sling, but I do not understand how it may be a stone loose. (then just published Asterix in Hispanie comic albums and sling-thrown so that the cord is not loosed.(page 7))

Well, when the technology was memorized, no longer blocked a hobby. And later, it led to a story in a local newspaper:

"Stone Play must be stopped!"

"14 to 15-year-old boys playing with a stone worrying lady who phoned the newspaper delivery. He told the xxx is dangerous to walk on the big rocks fly through the air. The boys have used a special spinner, who flung stones. The stone is attached to a string loop, and then fiuu! -On the way toward the goal. Such must be brought to an end. It is a disturbance to the public highway. Sometimes the damage can occur. And even if the only aim at the trees, the bark from a big rock when it hits the wood frame, says the caller."

Pipo silmillä

Watch Cap in the eyes of

------------------------------------------------

The above local newspaper-clipping was from 1981. But let's get back to the '70s for a moment, when we were little boys, and in late winter threw stones down on dry pine branches. I had the Watch Cap, which was the very room for growth. Rotating the sling, it remained in my forehead, but the the final effort as always pull over the eyes. The result was that I never saw them great hits. Demanded a guy annoyed, why not take the hat to get out. But I had a good explanation: the mother has forbidden it. (With hindsight, one might say: it was throwing a lot more dangerous than the freezing of the ears.)

Vakosamettilinko

Corduroy sling

-------------------------------------------------------------

Once in the 70's throws (safely on the street in the middle of single-family area) slings, when the neighbor's son saw the hobby, and decided right away to start hobby sling throwing. Fifteen minutes later, he rushed from his home, hey now that I did I'd also sling! Cords were extremely thin hemp rope. In what was supposed to be leather, was cut from a piece of old corduroys.

I said I did not just stand next to when you throw in there. And so it happened that the first twitch and corduroy said CRACK. Stone flew to who knows where in the neighborhood patios. Sling a hobby, he stopped at that first and last throw.

Ensikosketus sormilinkoon

At first touch finger-sling

---------------------------------------------------------------------

In the 70's we heard from the neighboring village boys hobbies also slings. Of course, we agreed on a common sling night. When we arrived at the scene throwing, was forced to burst out laughing when we saw their 40-cm(16inch) long delicate finger-slings. In fact, we used only the 80cm-1m(31-39inch) wrist-slings. Was then forced my finger-sling produces. It was a handy little accurate throws, but it is not our thing.

Reikä seinässä

Hole in the wall

---------------------------------------------

While the wrist-sling won the finger-sling, finger-sling was not ineffective. In the 70s a guy (then even the Finnish seen on TV) had to throw in a rebound one large industrial warehouse wall. Surprisingly, the stone flew through the wall.

After a few years ago I was driving past the store, a hole was visible to the wall.

Ilotulitusta kivilingolla

Fireworks stone sling

------------------------------------------------------------

If you put a sparkler in a transparent cardamom-tube, which was taped onto a stone, it often remained on the flight over the fire. Dark flaming arcs seemed to be fun, but the experiment ended on a sparkler lit a fire in my best felt-sling. When the sling spin, I was as a flame artist. Buddy laughed and I was annoyed.
